Fiji player ratings: England proved to be too strong late on, defeating Fiji 38-18 at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

This was not a weak performance from the visitors, however, with plenty putting in performances worthy of a match-winner.

Here’s how the players rated:

15. Salesi Rayasi – 8
Was tested aerially by England, but he stood up to the challenge, and perpetually tormented England’s defence, beating a match-high six defenders.

14. Selestino Ravutaumada – 4
Can have absolutely no complaints about his yellow card for taking Immanuel Feyi-Waboso out in the air, and can count himself lucky if anything. Poorly timed and highly dangerous. Won a penalty over the ball moments after coming on to rub salt in England’s wounds.

13. Kalaveti Ravouvou – 6
Made plenty of metres, the most for Fiji at 51, many of which were very well earned as he proved problematic for England all afternoon.

12. Josua Tuisova -7
Brought the fight to the English defence, as expected. Strong over the ball too, winning one nice turnover in his 22. Talismanic in every department. Yellow card blotted his performance, but that was for an accumulation of penalties.

11. Jiuta Wainiqolo – 5.5
May have not torn England’s defence apart, which he is more than capable of doing, but was still able to get the ball away in contact even when he had been halted.

10. Caleb Muntz – 6
On hand to score Fiji’s second from a chip, which was a reward for his floated wide pass to get the attack going. Tested England’s defence throughout, and took some shots as he took the ball to the line. Place kicking was a weak point.

9. Simione Kuruvoli – 6
Masterful chip over Marcus Smith to put Muntz in for Fiji’s second try, looked to have secured his second with 20 minutes remaining, only for a knock on when grounding to rule it out.

1. Eroni Mawi – 6
Held up against Joe Heyes very well.

2. Tevita Ikanivere – 8
Opened the scoring for Fiji following a driving maul, bagged his second after the break, and was nearly immaculate in the lineout. Rolled his sleeves up in defence as well, leading Fiji’s tackle count, 11, when he was substituted.

3. Mesake Doge – 6
Chopped down Ollie Chessum early on to make a statement and stood up to England’s scrum.

4. Isoa Nasilasila – 5
Sloppy early offside penalty. Cleaned up his discipline but was fairly quiet.

5. Temo Mayanavanua – 6
Put Ikanivere in for his second try, completing a slick move from a maul. Got through his share of tackles too.

6. Pita-Gus Sowakula – 8
The former All Black seemed hellbent to keep the ball alive with offloads in contact and nice handling throughout, with his offload to Kuruvoli being pivotal for Fiji’s second try. Monumental presence on the ball, and England will be glad to see the back of him.

7. Elia Canakaivata – 7
Took on the defensive responsibilities in the back-row, and did his job well. Fin Smith will have the shape of his shoulder imprinted on his rib cage after one almighty shot.

8. Vilame Mata – 7
Tested England’s defence with some astute lines in tight spaces, and, most importantly, kept coming.
