I definitely do! I got the feeling Rassie was holding back quite a bit. We'll obviously know in a weeks time if that is all hot air or not😂

They'll still test your guys under the high ball often, but when the counterattack is on….they'll pull the trigger!

They like their power wingers (brawn but no brains) who can catch a ball and attempt to run over people but have no idea how to catch a high ball. He is not an indispensable loss. I fear clever wingers more than power winger. Reece was a clever winger, Carter is a clever winger.

That’s a shame for him because he seemed to be in good form… but I didn’t see Caleb Clarke as a real game-changer for the All Blacks. Other options are available, and this will probably give Fehi Fineanganofo more opportunities. He’s someone I really want to see against the Boks!

@PB yesh pretty much what JW said. The that the «first team» could have thosectwo proper testicular July and then two more outings before the first test where the boks would have had fewer games and fewer hard test matches. The Argentina test was exactly what they needed.

I don’t know I just thought the tour matches could have helped build momentum. But I’m now thinking the 1.5 week rest for most of the 1st test players will probably be beneficial in the long run.

Yeah Rennie said a few off things, the kind of comments that put Razor offside with the players, I wonder who he was talking to to use that langauge.

I prefer him to set an example of like “he needs to play well enough and earn the jersey”, not “where giving him a free ride because I think my job security depends on him”!

Nick, since some of the South Africans are complaining about being compared to a (very good) all blacks side. You could use the Fijians as an example of thriving in chaos?

The way they play one touch rugby where you are forced to keep the ball alive at all costs until you see an opportunity. I once visited a friend from school there and one evening the whole village was playing! It’s is very interesting and effects the way they play and embrace absolute chaos

It was a shame Richie wasn’t available for the GRT, it’s good to hear he was looking to resign longer in order to make him self available. It’s a very difficult scenario for him, he’s been out so long he won’t know where things are at is it’s sorts suicide to lock yourself into a long term contract.

If he had of originally signed till the Lions it certainly would have made things “easy”, but removing the current eligibility block certainly wouldn’t do that. It would only make future situations much harder.

I may be biased but ……I think Australia is best suited to this fast moving style because we have such outstanding athletic talent, that hasn’t known whether it is arfa or marfa for years and years, due to truly hopeless coaching. Which is why we are languishing at 8.

We’ve been playing styles woefully ill suited to us.

It was your article about how the ABs ended a rugby championship with the least tackle breaks, least line breaks and worst of all. But it was the 1, only one!! counter attacking try that convinced me something wasn’t right under Razor.

To take our biggest strength and essentially remove it entirely from our game was nuts.

Good call. We have 4X first fives with Love, Dmac, now Richie, and young fulla Josh Jacomb.

Beaudy pretty much just sux now so can go be an outside back/trainer until retirement. Beaudan is just there if we lose Love and Dmac before the third test, at which point Jacomb should be considered ahead of him by then.

Wellington was the exemplar of this right - but have we seen it again since? Perhaps next week? But then there is the risk of what happened last year against Aussie. As chaos leads to catastrophic melt down. And here’s the thing - this AB side is 200% better than the Frankenstein unit that played in Wellington last year. Will Rassie risk playing chaos against chaos? I doubt that very much. Instead we have recently seen the Bok pack get even bigger in all positions (perhaps save for de Villiers). Where does the transition / evolution fit into such a behemoth?
