The Cheetahs, who snatched a 31-30 win against their South African rivals last week in Port Elizabeth, went 17-0 ahead inside 28 minutes, with Dweba scoring two unconverted tries.

Flanker Chris Massyn also went over and his effort was converted by scrum-half Ruan Pienaar in a dominant opening spell for the home side.

They were reduced to 14 men a minute before half-time, when second row Walt Steenkamp was shown a yellow card.

The visitors kept their opponents’ 14 men at bay early in the second period, but number eight Jasper Wiese went over for the Cheetahs’ bonus-point try in the 56th minute, with Pienaar adding the extras.

Wing Clayton Blommetjies, full-back Rhyno Smith and replacement fly-half Louis Fouche all touched down in the final quarter as the Cheetahs made it eight wins out of eight Guinness PRO14 derby clashes between the two sides.
