Injury has forced an alteration in the match officials originally appointed to take charge of the opening round Guinness Six Nations fixture between Steve Borthwick’s England and Italy in Rome.

Pierre Brousset of France had been named as an assistant referee for the February 3 Stadio Olimpico fixture.

However, having last weekend taken charge of the Connacht versus Bristol Investec Champions Cup match, a calf injury has now sidelined the French official from his upcoming role as referee Paul Williams’ assistant.
