Australia Men’s Sevens announce four re-signings ahead of SVNS Series
Australia Men’s Sevens representatives Ben Dalton and Beau Morrison have committed to new deals with the program ahead of an Olympic-qualifying HSBC SVNS Series campaign, while two prospects have re-signed ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Dalton and Morrison have put pen to paper on fresh 12-month contracts, while Brody Folkes and Bailey Roberts-Lintmeijer have agreed to new development deals. Folkes is looking to return from an ACL injury, while “it’s only a matter of time” Roberts-Lintmeijer plays on the Series.
St Josephs product Dalton came through the ranks in NSW Waratahs Youth side before moving to the capital, linking up with the ACT Brumbies system in 2021. Dalton was noticed by then sevens coach John Manenti, and would debut for the national side at the Dubai Sevens in 2024.
21-year-old Morrison donned the gold jersey for the first time on the world’s premier sevens circuit at SVNS Cape Town last December. The 2016 Sydney Sevens ball kid spent time with Warringah and Narrabeen, before wearing the blue and gold hoops of Sydney University.
Folkes earned representative age-grade honours with the Australia U18 sides in both sevens and XVs, which led to an opportunity with the Australia Men’s Sevens last year. But the teenager spent time on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury.
At 18, Roberts-Lintmeijer is back for another campaign with the Australia Men’s Sevens side on a development deal. The teenager joined the program last year, and continues to work towards the goal of debuting for the national side.
“Ben has been in the program for a couple of years now and has found consistency in his game. He is growing in the Sevens space and will only get better ahead of the Olympics,” Director of High Performance, Peter Horne, said.
“Beau has a great first season in the Sevens program before injury got him before the World Championship but we expect him to play a greater role next season.
“Brody is on the comeback after a knee injury and we are supportive of getting him back on the field and developing him in both formats of the game.
“Bailey is a promising talent with lightning speed and it’s only a matter of time before we see him on the field in open space.”
