Who Will Win?
One of the most hotly anticipated games on the rugby calendar is on the horizon: Scotland take on England at Murrayfield in the Six Nations on Saturday 24th February.
Although England will enter this game as the slight favourites, Scotland have an impressive recent record against Steve Borthwick’s men, including a 29-23 win at Twickenham last year. Plus, this time they’ll be playing in front of a boisterous and vocal Murrayfield crowd. As a result, a win for the home side certainly isn’t out of the question.

Scotland have had the better of England in recent meetings between the two sides.
Scotland have won three of the last five Scotland vs England matches, while England have won one (the other ended in a draw). However, many of these matches have been close. Scotland have averaged 21 points per match, while England have averaged 19.
Surprisingly, the stats also show that the home side has only won 20% of the last five matches!
Team Form
Little was expected of England at the Rugby World Cup after a poor showing in last year’s Six Nations. However, although Steve Borthwick’s playing style hasn’t thrilled fans, he has transformed the team’s fortunes. They went unbeaten in their pool and comfortably handled Fiji for most of their quarter-final. Then, they performed admirably against South Africa in the semi-final, where they led for much of the tie before they were finally overpowered in the final stages. They then rounded off the tournament by winning the Bronze Final. As a result, many English fans are hoping that the 2024 Six Nations will provide a great opportunity for the side to show their true class.
Meanwhile, Scotland have also been in reasonable form. Although they didn’t qualify from their pool at the Rugby World Cup, they were placed in the so-called ‘Pool of Death’ alongside Ireland and South Africa. They also won two matches at the tournament, including an 84-0 victory over Romania and a 45-17 victory over Tonga.
Below our team form guide, you can see in-depth stats about how the two sides have performed in their last five games, including stats about the number of tries they’ve scored, their overall points difference and the number of times they’ve scored the first try. We’ve also detailed how often each team has scored the first points in a game and how often they’ve won the race to 10 points.
