History of RC Vannes
The Vannes rugby team has traditionally competed in the Championnat Fédéral Nationale, which is the third tier of French rugby. However, in the 2015-16 season, the team was promoted to the Pro D2. In doing so, they became the first club from Breton to reach the second division.
Upon promotion, the Vannes rugby team immediately began to solidify their position in the league. Then, in the 2023-24 season, they seemingly achieved the impossible and gained promotion to the Top 14 for the first time in the club’s history.
Sadly, Vannes rugby club were relegated from the Top 14 after their first season in the competition. As a result, they’re back in the Pro D2 once again for the 2025-26 season.
