History of Union Sportive Carcassonnaise
The history of Union Sportive Carcassonnaise dates back to 1899, when the club was initially founded.
Throughout their history, the team has never won the French Championship (now known as the Top 14). However, back in 1925, they did reach the final of the competition. Sadly, they were defeated 5-0 by Perpignan.
Over the years, US Carcassonne have mainly played in the lower divisions of French rugby. However, they have won titles at a variety of levels. Since 2010, the team has been on an upward curve. During this period, they’ve won the Fédérale 2 (2008) and the Fédérale 1 (2010). In 2025, the team were promoted to the Pro D2 via the playoffs.
Now, US Carcassonne are looking to establish themselves in the Pro D2. Think the club can finally reach the Top 14 after years away? We’ll be watching closely.
