2025 Six Nations Referees & Match Officials


The match officials for the 2025 Six Nations matches have been revealed. This year’s Six Nations referees include a host of familiar names, as well as several new appointments who will be making their officiating debut in the competition. 

But do you know who the new Six Nations referee appointments are? Or which referees will be taking charge of your nation’s matches?

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Six Nations referees. 

New referees for 2025

This year’s Six Nations will feature a few new faces, including Sam Grove-White (Scotland) as an assistant referee, and several new TMOs - Andrew Jackson (England), Tual Trainini (France), Mike Adamson (Scotland), Richard Kelly (New Zealand) and Marius van der Westhuizen (South Africa).  

Additionally, this year will also feature one new Six Nations referee appointment -  Pierre Brousset.

Pierre Brousset (France)

Frenchman Pierre Brousset was lined up to make his debut in 2024, but had to pull out due to injury. Brousset is a regular on the international stage and began officiating Top 14 matches in 2016. He made his debut at the United Rugby Championship in 2022.

At the 2025 tournament, Brousset will take to the pitch in round three. He will referee the England v Scotland fixture on Saturday 22 February. 

Returning Six Nations referees

As well as the debut for Pierre Brousset, this year’s list of match officials features 10 familiar names:

  • Ben O’Keeffe (New Zealand)
  • James Doleman (New Zealand)
  • Karl Dickson (England)
  • Luke Pearce (England)
  • Matthew Carley (England)
  • Nic Berry (Australia)
  • Nika Amashukeli (Georgia)
  • Paul Williams (New Zealand)

In addition, returning for the 2025 Six Nations after their 2024 debuts are Christophe Ridley and Andrea Piardi.
