Eyebrows were raised when an object was seen being launched towards Addo-Carr as he sprinted away for an intercept try early in the second half of Sunday’s match.

There had initially been thoughts that the bottle was potentially thrown at the Bulldogs star, prompting an investigation from officials at CommBank Stadium.

However AAP has been told that investigations have uncovered that the fan had lost grip of the bottle when he jumped up in excitement as Addo-Carr made the break.

The incident has since been cleared by both the police and stadium officials, with the matter passed onto the Bulldogs to finalise.

Addo-Carr’s try was one of three scored by the former Melbourne flyer, with two of them coming via long-range intercepts.
