Leaguel Counsel EP 9

By Leaguel Counsel

Mark this weekend down on the calendar as the weekend International Rugby League announced itself…and unfortunately for the English that means suffering a debilitating loss at the hands of the scarily talented Samoan side!

This has an eery feel to it this game for the Poms, flying halfway around the world a week out, injuries and suspensions robbing them of key players, for once NRL clubs releasing most (no thanks to Ricky “I hate international league” Stuart”) of their top tier talent and finally heading out to Campbelltown where the vocal crowd will make them think they are in Apia…This all adds up into what could be a historic night for Samoan Rugby League.

Tonga vs Fiji wont disappoint either, both sides are easily the strongest they have ever put out on the field while the Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea should produce a highly competitive game.

Before we get to Saturday we have the last ever ANZAC test (the fixture will now be played at the conclusion of the season) tonight where after taking a run of beatings last season the Kiwis are well primed to cause a boil-over thanks to the return of some of the games best.

What an appetiser to the World Cup later this year…one thing is for sure we are going to learn a lot more about some teams come Saturday night.

Leaguel Counsel is a free flowing podcast largely covering all things Rugby League and occasionally touching on innocuous everyday stuff.
