Watch: The Pro14 makes its prediction for the McGregor vs. Mayweather fight

By Peteso Cannon

As you know, we’re generally all about the rugby but over the past few weeks the topic of conversation at RugbyPass headquarters has often centered around the McGregor vs. Mayweather fight.

Is it staged? How much is the purse? Can McGregor really win? He’s not a boxer and from what we’re told Mayweather is a fairly decent one.

So we took the opportunity to see what the players and coaches of the Pro14 had to say about the fight. It would appear that Ian Henderson has a hermit style approach to the new Pro14 season, as he didn’t seem to realise the fight was this weekend. One can only assume this is due to his rigid level of tunnel focus on the upcoming Pro14 Season.

A McGregor win would mean accomplishing what many have deemed to be impossible, but something about the Dubliners indomitable self belief gives rise to a wave of seemingly irrational optimism.

So, can he do it? Who knows. One thing that’s for sure, he’s captured the imagination of the wider sporting audience and made a purely rugby dedicated website diverge off course to discuss boxing/MMA.
