Wallaby hopeful Lukhan Tui has made his case to be picked in Michael Cheika’s squad with forty minutes of brutal club rugby for Souths in Queensland’s Premier Rugby.

The 1.98m enforcer showed exactly why Michael Cheika loves him, putting on a destructive performance earning him comparisons to the Marvel villain ‘Thanos’, who aims to wipe out half the universe. The 123kg lock put UQ’s forwards on notice, rattling cages with big hits and making strong carries.

The Wallabies will announce their squad tonight for their upcoming June international test series against Ireland. Cheika’s men will face an Irish team coming off a Grand Slam Six Nations campaign that secured the world number two ranking.

The 21-year-old lock Tui will be hoping to be there despite only playing less than three hours of rugby for the Reds this year due to suspension and injury. If he can make it through this weekend’s clash against the Waratahs he will surely be in Cheika’s sights.
