Video - Behind the scenes at the Dubai 7s
Armed only with an iPhone, Liam Dunseath – AKA Suzy – ventured behind scenes at the Emirate Airlines Dubai Sevens, possibly the most colourful stage on the World Series circuit.
The 48th edition of the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens was another huge success. Just over 100,000 fans walked through the gates during the three-day event and enjoyed 28 international teams in action, 294 rugby and netball teams battling it out in the Invitation Tournament, entertainment all day long, rocking tunes at the Rugby Rock gigs making the Dubai Sevens the sporting and social event of the year once more.
South Africa successfully defended their title after beating New Zealand 24-12 in the opening round of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series. The reigning world series champions unleashed all their attacking firepower in what was a breath-taking display of sevens rugby across the two days. With his most experienced side ever, head coach Neil Powell notched up his fifth tournament win of 2017 and continued South Africa’s dominance on the global stage.
Behind the scenes, Liam captured all the colour and sheer mentalness of the event.
