Uncapped Scarlets’ back Macs Page has been called up to the Wales squad for the November rounds of the Nations Championship, following Rio Dyer’s withdrawal.

Dyer sustained a hamstring injury in the act of scoring in the Dragons’ match against Ospreys last Saturday and has been ruled out of the Tests against Japan, New Zealand and Australia in Cardiff.

Dyer, who turns 27 in December, has scored eight tries in 24 Tests for Wales, since making his debut in 2022. But missed out on selection for the Six Nations and the Southern Hemisphere phase of the Nations Championship, and is sidelined again.

Page missed out on the original squad but now gets the chance to show why he has been compared to Wales legend Shane Williams.

The Pemrokseshire-raised player stands 5’8 tall but is a power-packed runner who has scored seven tries in a blistering start to the season.

He will be the eighth Scarlet in Steve Tandy’s squad for the November series, joining Blair Murray, Ellis Mee, Eddie James, Joe Hawkins, Sam Costelow, Taine Plumtree and Ryan Elias.

Page had his own injury concerns at the weekend, after suffering a head injury against the Stormers, and will have to go through the return-to-play HIA protocols before being cleared to win his first cap.

The 21-year-old can also play at outside centre as well as on the wing and was a member of Wales’ touring party to Japan in 2025 but did not feature.
