I see Deon Fourie has been named as replacement/starting hooker again for this weekend. I’ll accept his lineout throwing was better than the last time I saw him throwing into a lineout (which was the World Cup Final) but if Rassie expects his team to gain any scrum ascendancy with Fourie playing hooker, he’s mistaken, especially as Jan Hendrik Wessels can play loosehead and hooker.

That video you’ve posted comes from a channel called ‘Rassie’s Voice’, surely Rassie himself isn’t behind that video.

If I remember correctly, every team has 5 clips to send to World rugby before every match… Flattery decided to mention about the illegal stuff NZ does in a presser.. DR then commented and said NZ was penalised for everything he mentioned, but it wouldve been sent to World rugby by Springboks as part of the 5 clips.. Dave sent about the scrums.. so I dont understand the issue.

As a general observation, I think NZ were less composed and less efficient than in Eden park. SA needed them to be. Jacobson’s penalty concession 3/4 through the match when ABs were fighting back and in a central position on the SA 22 arguably cost them the match. They conceded a 3 pointer within 120s.

They also were forcing things. The opportunities were always going to come. Their impatience got in the way of some of those opportunities.

PSDT is pretty comfortably the best player of the last two world cups so tips Eben and he’s still behind Johnson and Eales though they didn’t have his longevity. All splitting hairs as all wonderful players and credit to their nations and families.

Not sure that Cody will be kept out altogether but I would like to see the Aumua / Samisoni show. Cody might be the best lineout thrower but he is not perfect. The strength of the other two for the scrums would be the main advantage and they could simplify the lineout throws to limit the damage (mainly by avoiding Etzebeth!).
