'This group has shown real courage': Latest England U21 Women squad announced

England U21 Women head coach LJ Lewis has selected a training squad for an opposed training session with Canada U21 Women.

From Monday 23 March the team are taking part in a three-day training camp which concludes with an opposed behind-closed-doors training match against Canada as preparations for the Six Nations Women’s U21 Series this Spring continue.

On Saturday 4 April, England U21 Women will play Spain’s senior women in Villajoyosa. Two weeks later they travel to Edinburgh and play Scotland U21 Women at Hive Stadium.

Loughborough Lightning prop Amelia Williams is names in her first camp of 2026. Kaya Acton and Isla Pomroy, who are both capped U18 internationals, are named in their first U21 Women’s camp.

Lewis, along with her assistant coach Sarah McKenna, will be supported by James Cooper, Oli Perry and Benny Williams.

LJ Lewis, England U21 Women head coach, said: “This group has shown real courage and leadership in how they’ve prepared towards the Six Nations, the intensity and mindset within the squad have set the standard for what it means to represent the Rose.

“Facing Canada provides a valuable opportunity to test our connections and continue that sense of bonding, and we’re pleased to add Amelia [Williams], who has worked tirelessly through injury, alongside Kaya [Acton] experiencing her first camp.

In the Women’s 2026 Six Nations Series, England U21 Women will play matches against Scotland, Ireland and France between April and May.
