Stuart Hogg has been arrested again
Former Scotland captain and British & Irish Lions representative Stuart Hogg was re-arrested last month following an alleged breach of a non-harassment order involving his ex-wife.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 33-year-old man was arrested in the Hawick area on Thursday February 12, 2026 in connection with a report of a breach of a non-harassment order.
“He was released without charge.”
The Scotland centurion and once all-time highest try-scorer had previously pleaded guilty to a single charge of domestic abuse in November 2024 at Selkirk Sheriff Court. The offence spanned from 2019 to 2024 and involved repeated messaging, verbal abuse and tracking behaviour towards his estranged wife.
In January 2025, Hogg was sentenced to a one-year community payback order with supervision as an alternative to custody. A five-year non-harassment order was also imposed, preventing him from approaching or contacting his former partner except in matters relating to their children.
The Montpellier full-back was reportedly stopped at Manchester Airport while returning from France and instructed to attend a police station in Hawick for questioning.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that King Charles III had directed that Hogg be stripped of the MBE awarded to him in the 2024 New Year Honours. A notice published in The Gazette, the UK’s public record of state appointments and honours, stated that the honour had been cancelled and his name removed from the official register.
The notice read: “The King has directed that the appointment of Stuart William Hogg to be a Member of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated 30 December 2023 shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order.”
Hogg last featured for Montpellier in January, starting and scoring in a 44-7 victory over Stade Francais in the Top 14.
