The front-row forward is among four players coming into Danny Wilson’s line-up following two consecutive United Rugby Championship defeats in South Africa.

Ally Miller replaces Darge, while captain Ryan Wilson has shaken off a knock to retain his place in the back row.

Ross Thompson and Sam Johnson come into the back division, while Gregor Brown has been named on the bench as he seeks his first appearance in 14 months after recovering from a knee injury and signing his first professional contract.

Tom Gordon misses out with concussion, while Fraser Brown is also unavailable.

Head coach Wilson told glasgowwarriors.org: “After two tough league matches we resume our European campaign and look to build on our good performance against Newcastle.

“Lyon are a side who have a number of threats across the park and are very consistent at home.

“We want to be playing at this level and testing ourselves against the best sides in Europe and this weekend’s game gives us that chance.

“Returning from South Africa we’ve had a good week of training and we’re looking forward to taking on Lyon tomorrow evening.”
