And in the aftermath it’s about how many positive lessons about your players you learn. I doubt Rassie will have seen many positives from that performance. I don’t feel he was expecting to lose that game, regardless of the ppl he put out…

I don’t think SFM yet falls into that category. The front row, yes. It just means there’s a gulf between first and second teams atm, one which will be hard to close.

Another thing though is that teams are starting to problem solve the rush defence.

Yes this is an important development. As I pointed out on the RGR tour, the ABs haven’t handled rush D well for years now, but they handled it fine in the Test series. So did Aussie in this last game.

Well I gave up trying to understand what Rassie does long ago, it’s worked for him so far and I think that other people have also given up questioning him. Like in November 2022 when he revealed his touring squad minus Thor. At the media conference they were asking - why is Thor not in the squad, is he dropped, is he too old, is he injured, is he going to the World Cup? He replied by saying that Thor does not need more test match experience and that why he was not selected.

Others have questioned certain selections and he says and I quote “It is not about picking the best players, but picking the right players for the team”
