Newcastle Red Bulls have signed Saracens hooker Samson Adejimi on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old Englishman arrives with immediate effect, having scored eight tries in 14 games for Saracens and a further 12 in 27 appearances for Championship side, Ampthill.

Adejimi’s arrival will help offset the loss of Italian hooker, Hame Faiva, who was injured during last weekend’s Cup defeat to Saracens.

“Samson is a very promising player who gives us greater depth and additional quality in a position where we need it, and we look forward to seeing what contribution he can make up here,” said head coach Alan Dickens.

“I remember seeing him score four tries on his Saracens debut against Northampton a couple of years back, and he is clearly a talent.

“He has come from a good environment, and we would also like to thank Saracens for their help in arranging this loan at such short notice.”

Adejimi, who arrived in the North East this morning, said: “I’m hugely grateful to have been given the opportunity here.

“Newcastle Red Bulls have a really exciting future, which I’m looking forward to playing my part in.”
