Allan Dell has extended his contract at Edinburgh until 2019 after making his debut for the British and Irish Lions last Tuesday.
Prop Dell was drafted into the Lions squad as one of Warren Gatland’s controversial late call-ups, having been involved in Scotland’s victories over Italy and Australia.
He made his Lions bow as a temporary replacement in the 34-6 triumph over the Chiefs and has now earned an extended stay at New Myreside, while lock Anton Bresler has also signed a new deal.
“I’ve been impressed with Allan’s performances for Scotland on their summer tour and it was pleasing to see him make an impact when he appeared for the Lions off the bench against the Chiefs,” said new Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill.
“Anton is a physical player and has been a key player for Edinburgh in recent seasons.
“Both Allan and Anton are experienced professionals, so I’m looking for both of them to really push our young players on and help set the standard for Edinburgh going forward.”
