Nations Championship fixtures and venues confirmed for November
Venues have been announced for all but four of the 18 matches in the Nations Championship ‘Northern Series’ scheduled to take place this November, with tickets now on general sale.
England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will play exclusively at their traditional home grounds – Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, the Aviva Stadium, Murrayfield and the Principality Stadium – in the three rounds before Finals Weekend in London.
While it is not yet known where France will play Fiji in their opening match, Les Bleus’ next two games, against South Africa and Argentina, will be at the Stade de France.
The venues for Italy’s matches against South Africa, Argentina and Fiji are also still to be confirmed, but according to the media release put out by the organisers, “a major sporting venue” will be used to host the Azzurri.
Ireland will get proceedings underway and inaugurate the ‘Northern Series’, on Friday, 6 November, when Argentina travel to Dublin for an evening clash at the Aviva Stadium.
Finals Weekend will take place on the weekend of 27-29 November, with nearly a quarter-of-a-million tickets available for the denouement of the newest international competition in town.
Tom Harrison, CEO of Six Nations Rugby, said: “The Nations Championship Finals Weekend will put the very best teams and players on the world stage, creating an incredible experience unlike anything else in sport. That is why we were committed to creating options and price points that mean as many fans as possible have access to tickets to attend the three days of fixtures in London.
“The major venues and cities confirmed to host the Northern Series fixtures will make the Northern Hemisphere the center of attention for global sport’s fans, before all roads lead to London for the Finals Weekend. This promises to make the entire month of November an unmissable experience for players and fans from all corners of the world.”
The ‘Southern Series’ of the Nations Championship takes place in July, with One New Zealand Stadium in Christchurch the stage for the first-ever Nations Championship fixture, the All Blacks vs France, on 4 July.
