I think were still looking for that sort of player in general to come through to the top aren’t we, let alone as the captain.

Kirifi would probably be top of the potentials on list for me.

Didn’t work for Carter at the start of the last game did it. Went straight over his head. Think we where fortunate the Stormers fell asleep on that one (would have liked Carter (and Lakai) to have fed Proctor.

Thirteen that have started a test recently, a lot of them were cover though, not what I’d call “first choice” selections.

Some maybes there with Blackadder but if it’s a 6-2 split it could be a lock with Lakai and Sititi on the bench as Ardie Vaai and Jacobsen will probably start

Pretty sure Ardie arrives day after Sharks so he could cover off bench if needed not ideal prep but he coukd do it I reckon but you would think there is enough in squad bar a Susie Q

How did Mounga go on the weekend? I only noticed a couple of good passes, otherwise seemed very rusty.

This his game would be better suited playing in NPC and getting upto speed. Needs hard matches rather than hard training.

They hve to take someone over though surely (technically they don’t, someone was likely only getting 60 mins on tour anyway and that could can now be Proctor. My preference is actually for Hannah, not sure he needs NPC after such a good Super season.

JRK was very good on the weekend. Both Narawa and Carter have spent time at 13.

If we are talking 13s Taele probably got the most minutes at Super out of the available dudes …personally don’t think actually need another back the way Hannah played other day I would have him on a plane and I hate the Cantabs!!! Pity Leicester injury I still rarely him as a starter for tests in midfield but has to play something first, saw he travelled to Fiji to get some of that Naholo traditional Fiji treatment on instagram..who knows?

AJ Lam, Ennor, McLeod, Havili, Sullivan - all potential players , but who are now unavailable as playing or heading off-shore - so real dip in Centre depth.

Wonder if DR will allow Mo’unga to stay in NZ to get back up to required level and pick another youngster - what about someone like a Harry Godfrey - can play 10 and 15 and looked very good in ITM cup thus far?

Mo’unga will be called up to replace Proctor.

Ioane will now play exclusively center as there are still 6 other wings.

B. Barrett will shift to fullback on the mid-week team to make room for Mo’unga at 10.

Don’t forget Carter played centre for the Steamers (if needed) so with Rieko and ALB there is enough cover - for now

Rieko looked pretty good shifting to centre and he is absolutely still a centre or wing

Is this the kind of general feeling about Sharks regarding their recruitment and performance over there Wayneo ? Sad if it is they were big hitters back in the day

Also been mulling over this idea that theres is again a missed opportunity for the coach to involve the fans in these teams. There’s little ryhme or reason to them that enables us to be involved or even get hyped about these team namings as it seems pretty random who is whre.

Would hve liked to them to have said/used a system something like first game everyone who hasn’t been involved yet players, second game is exact shadow team, and third game is going to involve the 10 new players etc. Something that allows us to play along. Very ho hum tour so far for em.

This is pretty close to the AB’s best team especially if you add the bench - obviously he wants to give his test 23 a run before the first test.

Lomax out again is a concern. He’s really our only tighthead who has matched it with the boks scrum in recent years, when fit.

After the Nations games, I believe Jordan was carrying a calf strain (again). Probably giving that as much rest / recovery as possible. He seems to come back strong from absences so it is great that others have opportunity to make a claim. This team is an interesting and exciting selection with some new combos that will strengthen familiarity for the future.

He’s slowly adding in some test players with about 8 by my reckoning

Maybe 3 to make the bench with others if they play well pushing?
