Historic WXV Global Series Tests complete Wallaroos’ 2026 calendar
The Wallaroos are set to play in France for the first time in more than 10 years and tour Scotland for their maiden appearance, with Rugby Australia confirming the team’s final two away Tests of the WXV Global Series in Europe.
France Rugby have announced the seventh-ever clash against the Wallaroos will take place on September 19 in Aix-en-Provence, although the host union is yet to confirm the venue and kick-off time for the fixture.
Australia then head to Edinburgh for what will be the first of three meetings with Scotland this season, with the Women’s Six Nations outfit set to play two matches Down Under in October, which includes a double-header with a Bledisloe Cup Test in Sydney.
This match will be held in Scotland on September 26, but the venue and kick-off time for that match will also be confirmed in due course. The Wallaroos are unbeaten in four all-time meetings with the Scots, which included a victory to secure the WXV 2 crown in 2024.
“It is fantastic to lock in our final fixtures against France and Scotland in two iconic rugby nations,” Interim General Manager of Women’s High Performance and Competitions, Jilly Collins, said.
“This marks the first time the Wallaroos will play a Test match on Scottish soil, which is a significant milestone for the program, and our first match in France since 2014.
“One of the greatest advantages of the new WXV format is that matches are hosted by participating nations, allowing our players to experience incredible new locations and rugby cultures around the world.”
The Wallaroos started their international season with a clinical 33-15 win over Fijiana at GIO Stadium on March 27, before flying to the USA for the start of the Pacific Four Series. Australia faced 2025 World Cup runners-up Canada and home side the USA during the two-match tour.
After falling to the Canadians 24-0 at Heart Health Park in Sacramento, the Wallaroos lost a hard-fought contest with the USA 33-12 in Kansas City. The Wallaroos then returned home, hosting the Black Ferns in a historic Anzac Day Test.
Wallaroos captain Siokapesi Palu Sekon scored a first-half try but the Black Ferns ran away with big win. Those two sides will meet on August 22 for the second O’Reilly Cup match, which will be held at Auckland’s Go Media Stadium.
The Wallaroos then jet off to the Northern Hemisphere for a clash with the Red Roses in Salford on September 13, before then facing France and Scotland. Australia’s international calendar is now set, as they round off their campaign with two matches at home against the Scots.
