The Perth SVNS has marked 100 days until the 2027 tournament with the unveiling of several headlining stars who will provide entertainment across a fun weekend of action in Australia’s west.

Seeing a sellout crowd in its 2026 iteration, the Perth SVNS has looked to lean into the party atmosphere of sevens, with a ‘Go Tropical’ theme unveiled for its 2027 iteration.

Headlining the weekend will be British pop icon Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who will appear for an Australian exclusive performance on Saturday, 6th September, with local dance-pop stars Sneaky Sound System closing out the weekend on Sunday, 7th February.

Ellis-Bextor is best known for her 2001 disco-pop hit ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’, which has experienced a resurgence in 2024, returning to the charts more than two decades after its release.

Sneaky Sound System is also a highly regarded Aussie summer staple, know for their hits ‘UFO’ and ‘Pictures’.

“We can’t wait to get back to Perth and party with you all at HSBC SVNS next year,” the band confirmed following their unveiling.

“Perth knows how to throw a good party, and we’re ready to let loose with you.”

With the Perth SVNS known for it’s hot conditions, the organisers are set to lean into the tropical feel, with party zones, a party stand where the shows will take place, as well as brass bands, Brazilian drummers and Pacific Island dancers to add to the entertainment.

The event will also include a street food truck market, dessert carts and a special shaded area that fans can utilise to cool off, Palm Paradise, which will also feature acoustic sets and laid-back live music.

It sets the stage to make the Perth SVNS one of the most exciting stops on the circuit, and reflective of the entertainment the HSBC SVNS Series serves up on the park.

“Perth will be partying with our champion Aussie sevens stars when the world comes to town for HSBC SVNS Perth in February,” Phil Waugh, CEO of Rugby Australia, said following the star billings.

“With an international pop star and an Aussie dance icon on the bill, as well as world-class athletes building towards the Los Angeles Olympics, there’s something for everyone.

“Grab your loudest shirt, round up your crew and come for the rugby, the music and the atmosphere at Perth’s ultimate international summer party.”

“HSBC SVNS Perth is a highlight of Western Australia’s summer events calendar, bringing world-class sport, music and an incredible atmosphere to the heart of Perth,” WA Premier and Tourism, Trade and Investment Minister Roger Cook added.

“An Australian-exclusive performance from Sophie Ellis-Bextor gives visitors from across the country one more reason to book the trip.

“We’re encouraging everyone to make a holiday of it: arrive early or stay on, and explore our beaches, Rottnest Island, the Swan Valley and everything else that makes WA the dream state.”

Tickets for the 2027 Perth SVNS are on sale now.

Great tournament, been a couple of times, going again in February. Flying from NZ and been very white skined I get my arse burnt, but am happy to support my NZ teams.
