The 24-year-old first joined the West Country side in 2019 while she was still in school and studied at Hartpury University. As a 17-year the wing, who can also play full-back, scored a hat-trick on her debut for the club.

Later that season she was called into the senior Red Roses’ camp and scored a try on her Test debut against Wales in the 2020 Guinness Women’s Six Nations.

This term Venner featured in every Gloucester Hartpury fixture across Premiership Women’s Rugby and the PWR Cup. In the league she scored 10 tries, beat 76 defenders and made 1,066 metres.

She appeared in two Women’s Six Nations fixtures in 2026 and contributed two tries to the Red Roses’ latest Grand Slam title.

Dan Murphy, Gloucester Hartpury’s Head of Rugby, said: “Mia has been a key figure at this Club for many years, and we’re delighted that she has signed a new deal with Gloucester Hartpury.

“She brings some outstanding qualities both on and off the field, which make her a hugely valuable member of the squad.

“She’s been brilliant for us this season, and we believe there is still plenty more to come from her.”

Venner’s re-signing at Kingsholm Stadium comes a day after the side confirmed that Wales internationals Bethan Lewis and Kelsey Jones, as well as experienced back Lizzie Goulden, had left the club.

The 24-year-old has joined fellow Red Roses Alex Matthews, Maud Muir, Mackenzie Carson, Georgia Brock and Emma Sing in agreeing new terms with the Cherry and Whites.

Venner said: “I’m delighted to be re-signing with The Circus. I’ve been at Gloucester Hartpury since 2019, having previously studied at Hartpury University, and it’s a place where I really feel at home.

“The support from our fans is always incredible and makes it such a special place to play rugby. I’m excited for what’s to come and to continue representing this Club.”
