Gloucester have announced the signing of Wales captain and British & Irish Lion, Jac Morgan, ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Morgan, who is currently injured, moves from the under-threat Ospreys, whom he joined from the Scarlets in 2021.

The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the world’s best back-rowers and was one of two Welsh players named in the British & Irish Lions squad for the summer tour of Australia, along with Tomos Williams. He made two Test appearances off the bench and was player of the match against the Reds.

He continued that form into the Quilter Nations Series, only to dislocate his shoulder in the first match against Argentina. He is now expected the miss the whole of the Guinness Six Nations.

“We’re really pleased to get a deal for Jac over the line. He’s a genuinely world-class rugby player and has a big impact in every team he’s been a part of, and that’s a really exciting prospect,” said Gloucester Director of Rugby George Skivington.

“Jac no doubt had lots of offers on the table, so for him to commit to the project here at Kingsholm is a great nod to the programme we have in place, and the ambition we have for next season and beyond.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Jac into the group next season.”

Morgan said: “I’m delighted to sign for Gloucester Rugby ahead of the 2026/27 season.

“It’s a great club with brilliant supporters. I know a lot of players at Gloucester who speak highly of the environment and I’m excited for the future. I’m also looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Gallagher Prem.”
