Ex-Eagles Sevens coach Friday lands new coaching role

Harrow School have announced that former USA Men’s Eagles Sevens coach will be their new Director of Rugby.

It is the first full-time coaching position the Englishman has held since his time with the Eagles concluded after the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

After he concluded his playing career, which included time with England Sevens, Wasps and Harlequins, Friday forged a formidable coaching career with England Sevens, Kenya Men’s Sevens and London Scottish before he joined the USA.

During his time with the Eagles, Friday turned Carlin Isles, Perry Baker and Madison Hughes into verifiable stars of global rugby sevens and finished second overall on the HSBC SVNS Series in 2018/19.

Friday takes over a rugby programme that has had recent success with consecutive Continental Tyres Schools Cup titles in 2023/24 and 2024/25.

In recent years Billy Vunipola, Maro Itoje and Henry Arundell have all progressed from Harrow to the England Senior Mens’ National Team.
