Eagles set New York date with Red Roses for WXV Global Series finale

England’s Red Roses will conclude their 2026 WXV Global Series campaign against the USA Women’s Eagles at Sports Illustrated Stadium in October.

The fixture will be the sixth Test match that the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 champions play across the eight-week WXV Global Series window. In the fortnight before they are hosted by the Eagles, England will play two matches against Canada.

Last August, England and the USA played in the Women’s Rugby World Cup’s opening fixture at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light. The fixture set a tournament record attendance with more than 42,000 in the stands for the Red Roses’ 69-7 win.

Jack Hanratty’s USA will host Italy, who finished fourth at this year’s Guinness Women’s Six Nations. Fixtures against the Azzurre will take place in Mansfield, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee. It will be the first time that the Eagles have played Italy since the 2023 edition of WXV 2 in Cape Town, South Africa.

In the same release it has been announced that the USA Men’s Eagles will host an Australia XV team across back-to-back weekends. These fixtures will take place in Nashville and Newark, with both matches forming doubleheaders with the Women’s Eagles. The last time the USA’s Men met an Australia team was in 2015 at Chicago’s Soldier Field ahead of that year’s Rugby World Cup.

“We’re thrilled to host the WXV Global Series home games in Texas, Tennessee, and New Jersey, and welcome international powerhouses Italy and England for some exciting action.

“Furthermore, as part of two doubleheader events, the USA Men’s Eagles taking on Australia XV will add to the excitement as fans get the chance to experience top tier rugby on US soil as we prepare for the 2031 and 2033 Rugby World Cups.”
