Canada Women’s Sevens head coach Jocelyn Barrieau has been forced to make a number of changes to her squad for New York SVNS.

In the wake of the team’s fifth-place finish on home soil Carissa Norsten, Piper Logan and Keyara Wardley have all been ruled out of the final HSBC SVNS Series stop of the season in New York City.

Both Chloe Daniels and Claire Gallagher have returned to England to play for their Premiership Women’s Rugby clubs.

Barrieau has called up Madison Donnelly and Brogan Mior for their international debuts.

In October, Donnelly was named Player of the Match in the Queens Gaels’ OUA Women’s Rugby Championship final victory.

Mior took part in the inaugural season of Women’s Elite Rugby with Twin Cities Gemini. She scored 19 points across 10 starts in 2025.

Mahalia Robinson and Vanessa Chiappetta will make their first appearances for Canada since the 2024/25 season.

Ahead of the final leg of the HSBC SVNS Series season Canada are placed fifth in the women’s standings.
