Captain Ardie Savea has been named to return for Moana Pasifika’s round seven clash with the Crusaders, having overcome a hamstring complaint.

Changes across the park see a refresh in the front row, with Feleti Sae-Ta’ufo’ou returning to the starting unit while Tito Tuipulotu gets his first start in Super Rugby.

Semisi Paea appears for the first time this season to help form the loose forward trio, alongside stars Miracle Faillagi and Savea.

Tevita Ofa is in line for his first start in Moana Pasifika colours as well, named on the right wing to complement Solomon Alaimalo.

Injuries to stars of the season so far in Kyren Taumoefolau and Semisi Tupou Ta’eiloa have paved the way for the wing and loose forward changes.

“We’re grateful to have depth in our forwards with a lot of seasoned players. Alamanda is one of those players and we’re pleased he’ll get the chance to get on the field. Having Ardie back is also great for the team who will follow his lead,” head coach Fa’alogo Tana Umaga said.

“The Crusaders have been playing really well and we’ve got to come out strong to have a chance.

“Going to Christchurch, we’re focused on getting into a rhythm early, just sticking to our unique game and what we know.”
