Use that play at the end of the NZvIre quarter and go from there. That was probably too long and too much of the same but the All Blacks probably should have been awarded with ending that play much sooner when Ardie got over the ball, but it is a good starting point.

Very misleading JW. That sequence of play started just outside the Ire 22 and worked its way into the AB 22 on phase 33! There were no more than half a dozen phases inside the NZ 22 so it is not the situation we are discussing.

I think this is an excellent appointment. Rennie’s style of transition attack off defence, turnover, regather reflects the modern game. I thought NZ needed to change to this direction anyway. The lethal counterattacking philosophy is NZ rugby anyway.

If you look at some of the anomolous results: NZ-SA Wellington, SA-Aus jo-burg, Sco-Eng and Eng-Ire……all of these tries are from turnover ball or kicking against a team losing. 4/5 Irish tries were after kicks v England.

Yes that would be ,y start point, but maybe with Lakai and Savea reversing roles - so Sititi at 6, Savea at 8 and Lakai at 7.

Tupou Vaai has said he nejoys second row far more, so let him stay there!

Garbisi hits Italy with brutal reality check amid talk of historic England win

I believe the backline is not as ad-hoc as it looks: it is de facto the “Bibs” in the training sessions for the first three matches so it should be coherent. Hopefully another great weekend of rugby awaits.

The stats in the article don’t need much extrapolation to find Razor’s philosophy within. In fact they are almost perfect for the job!

One advantage Rennie will have immediately is that he will be very well aware of how AB candidates in Japan are going.

He also had exactly the same record as Gregor Townsend, the man he succeeded at Glasgow, at 60% with the Warriors.

Better in the URC, worse in Europe, so ppl up there were no convinced he had really improved the club.

Yes Joe was and is a dedicated ruck-builder, Rennie is not so he often paired Angu Bell and Taniela Tupou together at prop where Joe tended to keep them apart.

I prob should have said ‘Pete Samu as a #7’ where he played for Rennie! H rpob never had the outright power for 8 but he does have the high skill base DR will look for in the forwards.
