Romain Ntamack Bio

Romain Ntamack is an outstanding fly half that is known for his versatility. He has played for Toulouse for his entire career and has featured regularly for the French team since 2019.

Born 1st May 1999 in Toulouse, France, Romain Ntamack began his career by following in his father’s footsteps - former French international player and Toulouse star Émile Ntamack - he joined the Toulouse youth system at a young age.

In 2017 Ntamack made his first professional appearance in the Top 14 in a home win against Agen. Ntamack later went on to win the Top 14 title in 2018-19, before winning the Top 14 and European Rugby Championships Cup double in 2020-21.

At 17 years old, Romain Ntamack played his first match with France U20s during the Six Nations Under 20s Championship. He then returned for the 2017 World Rugby Under 20 Championship.

Showing immediate promise, Ntamack began his international career as an outside centre in the 2019 Six Nations Championship. Having displayed his excellence, he became the youngest French player to ever participate in a World Cup after being called up for France’s team in the 2019 Rugby World Cup. After the tournament he was deservedly named World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year at the 2019 World Rugby Awards.

During the 2020 and 2021 Six Nations Championships he played as a fly half alongside Toulouse teammate Antoine Dupont at the scrum-half position. He then went on to play all five games in the 2022 Championship and contributed to France’s first Grand Slam since 2010.

Under contract with Toulouse until 2028, Romain Ntamack has a strong career ahead of him.
