Natasha Jones Bio

Born 7 November 1990, Natasha Jones started playing rugby at the age of eight, when she played for Leicester Forest East with the boys’ team. From the age of 12, she joined the girls’ team, which collaborated with Nottingham Paviors.

Her talents were obvious, and Jones was selected for the High Performance Academy. Here, she was spotted by the Lichfield Ladies coach. She then trained with the ladies’ squad until the age of 18, when she was finally allowed to take part in full-contact drills with the team.

It didn’t take long for her talents to get recognised once again. Jones played for Lichfield in the Premiership and was soon selected for the England U20 team. With the squad, she won the Nations Cup in 2011. She also represented the England ‘A’ team on multiple occasions, too.

Sadly though, her stint with Lichfield Ladies came to an end when the team was unsuccessful with their bid to join the Premier 15s. As she wanted to play at the highest-possible level, Jones left the squad and joined Loughborough Lightning. She then stayed at the club for three years, before joining the newly-formed Leicester Tigers Women

Jones really made a name for herself at Leicester Tigers. She is officially player #001 at Leicester and was the club’s first ever captain. A longtime supporter of the club before she began playing, she said that captaining the club was her greatest honour. Before her retirement, she captained Leicester in their first-ever official match, their first Premiership match and their first Premiership win.

Now officially retired from the sport, we can’t wait to see what Natasha Jones does next.
