Saracens have picked up a second ex-London Irish player, adding versatile Argentinian back Lucio Cinti to their roster just five days after completing the signing of Australian forward Ollie Hoskins.

The Exiles were suspended by the RFU on June 6 and the break-up of the squad that finished fifth in the 2022/23 Gallagher Premiership quickly followed, with the current champions the latest to add to their resources.

A statement read: “Saracens is pleased to announce the signing of versatile back Lucio Cinti for the 2023/24 season. The Argentina international had been with London Irish for the last two years and will now add plenty of pace and flair to the Saracens back line for the upcoming campaign.

“The 23-year-old, who has 11 caps for his country, can play in the centre or across the back three, and at 6ft 3 ins, he will bring significant size to North London. He is also a sevens specialist which saw him win a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.”

Cinti said: “I’m very happy to join the club and am looking forward to being a part of it.”

Saracens boss Mark McCall added: “Lucio is a young player with enormous potential who will bring both X-factor and versatility to our back line. We are excited to welcome him to the club.”
