Rugby has changed in many ways in recent years, the game in its current form has a much higher average time of ball in play, which correlates to a higher tackle count and ultimately a higher number of injuries.

According to figures from The Telegraph, in the past four years the average tackle count has risen by a startling 33.2 percent

This week saw mass postponement of fixtures in the Premiership A League, a clear indication of the severity of the crisis.
