By Online Editors

Two tries for summer signing George North ensured the Ospreys got the new Guinness PRO14 campaign off to a winning start, in a tight fought battle with Edinburgh at the Liberty Stadium last night.

Edinburgh earned themselves a losing bonus point in a 17-13 reverse against the North-inspired Welsh side.

The first North try came in the 59th minute, after he took the ball from Dan Evans on the right wing, before stepping infield to beat two defenders.

He bagged his second 10 minutes later, running 60 metres after the Ospreys won turnover ball inside their own 22. Sam Cross broke and a couple of passes freed up the giant wing who was too fast for the covering defender, Edinburgh’s new signing Luke Hamilton.
