All of a sudden there is just one more round to go of the 2025/26 HSBC SVNS Series season.

Last weekend in Vancouver, South Africa’s men and New Zealand’s women won their third and fourth tournaments of this season.

As you would expect, there were heaps of the weekend’s best moments to trawl through on social media at the end of two days of enthralling action.

Here are the top five social media moments from Vancouver…

Fiji do Fiji things

It does not matter how many times you say it, watching Fiji play rugby is magic.

Across two days of action in Vancouver we got plenty of examples of just how special Osea Kolinisau and Richie Walkers’ teams are.

The video above showcases this perfectly. Joseva Talacolo keeps the ball alive, Terio Veilawa pops it through his legs, Kavekini Tanivanuakula keeps the move going and Talacolo dots down.

It certainly is not the most expansive or ingenious rugby ever seen. But it is effortless and stylish at the very least.

Jorja Miller hits 100

Jorja Miller has been one of the standout performers on the HSBC SVNS Series this season.

At just 22, Miller notched her 100th tournament try for the Black Ferns Sevens. It took her 28 tournaments to hit that landmark score. Only 12 more events than Portia Woodman-Wickliffe and Michaela Brake.

You could possibly describe the score itself as trademark.

With a pink bow in her hair Miller bowled over two defenders just beyond the halfway line and crossed the whitewash unopposed.

The question now is, how many tries will Miller score on the Series in her career?

Spain do something special

After a third-place finish last season Spain have endured a horrid 2025/26 season until their trip to Canada.

In Dubai they finished sixth. They were eighth in Cape Town. Sixth in Singapore. And Sixth in Perth.

So to make the jump to second at BC Place came as something of a surprise. But also went to show how deep Paco Hernandez’s team are willing to dig for one another.

A SVNS Series post on Instagram showcased the team’s semi-final performance against Fiji. In that contest the side surrendered a 17-point lead. It could have been the most familiar story of their season.

It was only when Antón Legorburu latched onto Pol Pla’s hack through that the game was finally won. The relief was clear to see.

South African celebrations

Ahead of this season Spingboks Sevens head coach Philip Snyman said he was going to rotate his squad throughout 2025/26.

At that time it is entirely possible that the 38-year-old was not entirely certain how his team were going to perform.

But, with one tournament to come, his side are joint on points with Fiji at the top of the Series standings. They have been majestic.

On Sunday afternoon in Vancouver the side beat Spain 38-12 in the men’s final to wrap up their third tournament win of the season.

This weekend in New York the side have been named in Pool A with Australia, France and New Zealand.

Another Black Ferns Haka

Every time the Black Ferns Sevens win a tournament, the celebration Haka does not get old. It just becomes a little bit more iconic.

Sunday saw Cory Sweeney’s team won their fourth tournament of 2025/26. It was also their fifth top two finish. At the end of five events.

With a six-point lead over their closest rivals, Australia, in the overall standings the Black Ferns will want to finish top the class again this week in New York City to head into the HSBC SVNS World Championship events on top of the world.
