Graham Henry: What the Springboks series taught the All Blacks

Yet more coverage of RGR that fails to mention that it was out of season for the URC teams plus the Lions, although improving, are a middling URC team, so really they shouldn't have been more than a speed bump for the ABs (of old?)

Referees for World Rugby Nations Cup confirmed

You are clutching at straws - it is being officiated in a manner that suggests if the ball leaves the hands in a flat or backward manner then it is not a forward pass. Vectors in elementary physics show a ball carried forward, at pace, which is then passed ‘flat’ ie. at 90° to the direction of the player's travel, will have a resultant direction of travel at roughly 45°, if the passed ball and player are travelling at the same speed. Obviously, the further the pass, the further the ball will appear to travel forward on its 45° trajectory, from its point of departure. You are welcome

How Canada threw down the gauntlet and levelled the playing field against England's Red Roses

The amount of times Canada threw it backwards stationary to draw out the roses D put immense pressure on that final or second to last catch pass but Canada has improved that aspect of their game hugely.

As a big Black ferns fan I’m really happy they have stopped some of the offloading in contact getting bit more direct whilst still staying true to their style.

Six Ireland squad takeaways - a 'specimen' and spicy competition but Munster may be miffed

So glad and a bit surprised when reading this article since I was saying to myself that Sheehan could make a great 8 and that O’Brien should be tested at 13 while watching Clermont-Leinster.

I do not know to which extent Sheehan could really develop into a new position but, at least, it would enable Ireland to have more ingame options.

Newest All Black returns in Canterbury team for 2026 NPC final

I don’t if anyone involved in Rugbypass read these comments but the mobile version is becoming difficult to read, the first paragraph of every article for me is now obscured by an advertisement, and the rest pop up all over the place making it a pain in the butt. I get you need revenue but I miss the first paragraph and I constantly get a video running in the bottom corner.

Nobody should step over the line or feel confident enough to do it either

We don't have a game without players or fans but nor do we have a game without officials

Why South Africa's ‘scrum dominance’ gospel is spreading around the world

We could have a massive say on the French prospects

If we keep the run going against Scotland, France would likely have them in the round of 16 and rebounding from a loss. France will not have broken a sweat by then. An almighty banana skin considering the Scots kicked them up and down Murrayfield last time out

Good luck to all the officials and please follow the lead of the ones in the SH and tell the TMO to leave the small stuff alone.

Six Ireland squad takeaways - a 'specimen' and spicy competition but Munster may be miffed

Agree. Injury aside, the starting wings pick themselves and would possibly see O’Brien benching. He's worth a crack at 13 for sure. He and McCloskey could be dynamite

My only worry around Crowley is that it sounds like a very complex injury. He is a smashing player on his day. He has the talent that you build a team and style of play around him short to mid-term, but the injury issue is the worry. It seems to be the sort of thing that flairs up in the blink of an eye without warning. Farrell has a huge call to make around this

Yeah. The better the opponent, the more time your centres will be defending than attacking. Aki is now potentially a liability on the defensive side of things

He's off contract this season, I'm not sure he hangs on for RWC

Wallabies make bold No.10 call in team for Bledisloe II

Mate I hear you and the issue of having to play tests to get experienced is a real one. It demonstrates the lack of pathways available to the players here and while that Super rugby AU was a good start I think RA need to do more or they will always find themselves in this situation.

The other thing they need to do is to stop paying excessive amounts of money to league players who were good at schoolboy rugby, usually because they were bigger and stronger rather than because they had good skills, and who went to league. They come back with school boy rugby knowledge and rugby IQ and get exposed at both Super and international level. All that does is make it harder for the Wallabies to win games.

Dave Rennie weighs in on 'winding back' the game clock after Meredith TMO intervention

Mate I think it’s a bit harsh comparing them to keyboard warriors when they have a specific job to do that requires them to see multiple screens and they can’t do that anywhere else. While I agree there needs to be a review of their job and the times they can get involved I think you’re being a bit harsh on them.

I agree it is up to each country but I think World Rugby could make a call and tell the national unions that they should get their police or whoever involved.

How Canada threw down the gauntlet and levelled the playing field against England's Red Roses

Appreciate your write-up!

I think something really noticeable, even going back to the 2024 WXV near-loss to Canada in BC Place, and also evident over the last 3 games (D, W, L) was Mitchell’s inability to properly use the bench. For a team consistently celebrating their depth, to have a combined 10 unused substitutes over such close contests beggars belief, and that’s not counting some of those who came on in the 75th minute…
