Spanish international claims major honour at Brumbies Annual Awards
Spanish international Fenandez de Corres has received the Helen Taylor Award for Women’s Player of the Year, with Wallabies backrower Rob Valetini another big winner at the club’s annual night of nights.
De Corres enjoyed a standout debut Super Rugby Women’s campaign with the Brums, making 39 tackles and 13 tackle breaks. The scrum-half stepped up as a leader within a squad, which also included Wallaroos skipper Siokapesi Palu Sekona and Tabua Tuinakauvadra.
Valetini was recognised with the Brett Robinson Players’ Player of the Year, marking the third time the loose forward has claimed the award. ‘Bobby V’ started in all 14 appearances last season, lining up at blindside flanker in the quarter-final defeat to the Hurricanes.
Brumbies captain Rayn Lonergan took out the Men’s Best Back Award and the Member’s Choice Award. The halfback has carried some impressive Super Rugby Pacific form into the Test arena, starting in all three Wallabies matches so far this season.
“Tonight was about recognising the passion that goes into wearing this jersey and the people who continue to build this club,” Brumbies Chairman Joe Roff said.
“It is about celebrating those who have contributed to our story in 2026 and acknowledging the impact they have had on the Brumbies family.”
“Every one of our award winners has embodied what it means to be a Brumby. Rob and Anne, in particular, have set the standard through their performances, their leadership and the way they represent this club both on and off the field.”
