Sergeal Petersen bags brace as Bulls paste Zebre Parma

Bulls strengthened their hopes of securing a home quarter-final in the United Rugby Championship with a comprehensive bonus-point 63-24 win over Zebre in Pretoria. The South Africans crossed nine times through Sergeal Petersen (2), Zak Burger, Stravino Jacobs, Jan-Hendrik Wessels, Marco van Staden, Marcell Coetzee, Harold Vorster and David Kriel, with Keagan Johannes converting seven and Boeta Chamberlain two.

In reply, Jacopo Trulla, Giovanni Montemauri and Tommaso Di Bartolomeo went over for Zebre, Montemauri converting two and Giacomo Da Re one, with Alessandro Fusco adding a drop goal.

As a former Allblack and proven high level coach I think he knows enough. Tony Brown should be in the Allblacks coaching setup, it's disastrous he's in the Boks setup instead as the Allblacks are riddled with assistant coaching mediocrity.

Hmmm I’m not sure what you really mean by him “not climbing in”. In the 2025 6N Itoje was 2nd in the competition for attacking ruck arrivals, and 3rd in the competition for defensive ruck arrivals - 1st in both categories among locks.

I do think there’s an interesting phenomenon going on, whereby a lot of people are willing to acknowledge England as a really good team, but are unwilling to acknowledge that England have world class players - or world class depth - or a world class coaching set up. So its very confusing how England have been able to get so good!

Must say little concerning the Top 14 clubs bringing in Oz youngsters - 16k away from family, different language/culture and education. Hopefully, they have structures to support kids so far away from family, friends etc.

When you consider the Parent/Grandparent rule, I imagine a substantial number.

Think in NZ around 15% have access to a UK passport - so my Kids have a Mom born in UK and Grandparent in Ireland - so they would qualify to play for Ireland if they wished.

Cant cover everything all at once. If they have to cover SFM religiously, there will then be more space out wide. Just his presence spells danger for any opposition whether its specifically him or someone else he's freed up on the outside by the attention being on him.

I’d rather not comment on the why or wherefore Itoje got made captain of the Lions. I’m not Irish, so perhaps you're right. However, if Doris had been fit, no way Itoje would have been captain. But OK, he was. I’ll tell you what I don’t like about him - he hangs around the fringes but doesn’t really climb in like an All Black or Springbok or Argentine lock would do. It doesn’t make him a bad player; I just can’t warm to him. I

don’t know which players in the current England team are world class. Pollock has the potential to be and could get there next year. Ben Earl is very good, but he’s got Ardie and Wiese ahead of him. I like Fin Smith a lot, but obviously he’s got Sasha, who’s a freak, as competition.
