Scotland name a replacement after injury forces Sam Skinner out

Edinburgh lock Jamie Hodgson has been called up to the Scotland squad after Sam Skinner withdrew through injury. The 27-year-old Glasgow Warriors second-rower was forced off in the first half of Saturday’s 16-15 defeat by Australia and left BT Murrayfield afterwards with his foot in a brace.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that Skinner has dropped out of contention and that Hodgson – capped six times since making his debut against Tonga a year ago – has been drafted in ahead of this weekend’s second Autumn Test at home to Fiji.

Skinner is the third second-rower to be hit by injury, with Scott Cummings having dropped out of the squad last week and Jonny Gray having been deemed unavailable for the Australia game. It remains to be seen if the Exeter lock will be fit enough to return this weekend.

Meeting was obviously for another purpose, but the exact quote was “yes”, so I think he’s probably more referring to the original quote, as in ‘what was the whole discussion’, rather than how the media portrayed it (which is all that we have access to).

Even this article doesn’t tell you what the question is that Chris answered for instance.

In the same way, when autumn matches come around. The Rugby Championship sides have had the luxury of training together and playing many tests to gain cohesion as well as improve (unless you’re Scott Robertson’s All Blacks). Then they play against teams who have been together for a few weeks, but not so much is talked about that from what I have seen.

I agree, the World Cup is the best test because all sides have had the same amount of preparation.

These articles are nonsensical. Of course the Boks are beatable. Every team is because everyone is at a better level these days. On average ..on a given day.. the top 6 can beat each other. The Boks currently tend to win when it matters. So we celebrate that. Any GOAT chats for players or a team as a whole is a useless waste of time and just clickbait bs.

presumably including the non-working TMO at Ellis Park last year. strange coincidence that it keeps happening at the same stadium vs same opponents. Odd. Of course, Boks were also handed the RWC’23 by TMO (vs France and NZ). ‘much vaunted” indeed.

Im a kiwi and I agree. For years we anticipated great games only to end up feeling sorry for the opposition. That’s not “buzz” we wanted.

Game of the century for me still the Wallabies vs ABs match. Prime Australian and NZ players, close result and a try fest with 3 scored in the 1st 6 mins alone.
