New All Black prop Kane Hames took exception to an article written about him and he wasn’t shy about raising the issue during a press conference.
Hames singled out Marc Hinton, after an article appeared suggesting he wasn’t a ‘renowned scrummager’.
Prop Hames, 29, comes into the side as one of seven changes for Joe Moody, who dislocated his shoulder during last weekend’s 39-22 victory over Argentina in New Plymouth.
Coming from Bay of Plenty, the 29-year-old joined the Maori All Blacks for the first time in 2013 after a strong ITM Cup season with the Steamers.
A strong tighthead prop with an ability to pounce on any loose ball that comes his way, Hames is also a registered rugby referee and has worked as a Rugby Development Officer with the Bay of Plenty RFU.
Here’s a video of Hames squatting 240kg in 2013.
