Kevin Rouet joins Saracens alongside Canada head coaching role
Saracens have confirmed that Kévin Rouet has joined the team’s coaching panel alongside his role as Canada head coach.
Earlier this year the Frenchman coached world No.2 side Canada to a runners-up finish at the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in September.
He will specialise in attack at the Premiership Women’s Rugby club has he aims to gain weekly coaching experience in the wake of Canada’s international successes.
Rouet worked closely with Saracens’ Director of Rugby, Alex Austerberry, who was an assistant coach with the North Americans during the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
Since his appointment as Canada head coach ahead of the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup, Rouet has emerged as one of the world game’s most forward thinking coaches.
In the past two years Rouet masterminded Canada’s surge up the World Rugby rankings in 2024, won a Pacific Four Series title and culminated with an agonising 33-13 loss to England’s Red Roses in front of a world record crowd at Allianz Stadium.
The 39-year-old was born in Colombes, France, and played amateur rugby in France. He began his coaching career in Canada after he emigrated to complete a degree in project management at the University of Quebec.
At the beginning of his professional career Rouet worked in bridge construction. Once he committed fully to coaching he utilised a background in analytics to benefit his teams.
He has coached women’s rugby at Laval University, Rugby Quebec and Stade Bordelais before he joined Canada as an assistant coach in 2019. He took over as head coach in March 2022 after Sandro Fiorino’s abrupt departure from the position.
Saracens have also confirmed several other additions to their coaching staff. Neil Harris has returned to the side as scrum coach. Harris most recently coached Champ Rugby side Cambridge and has also coached the USA Women’s Eagles.
Harry Wilson, who plays for the Saracens men’s side, has linked up with the team as an assistant forwards coach.
