Former Eddie Jones pick Sam Hill ends career after 'dragging it out'
Former Gallagher PREM winner Sam Hill has called an end to his professional rugby career.
The 32-year-old spent a decade with the Exeter Chiefs, leaving Sandy Park to join Sale Sharks after their Gallagher PREM and Investec Champions Cup double in 2020.
During his time with Exeter, the centre was a member of England camps under both Stuart Lancaster and Eddie Jones, but never earned a senior cap, with outings for England A being his highest honours.
Hill spent three years with the Sharks before joining Blackheath, and then Major League Rugby’s Houston SaberCats.
After two seasons in the United States, Hill has decided to bring the curtain down on his professional career.

“So after dragging it out for the last few years, it’s probably about time I call it a day. I’ve absolutely loved the past 15 years of playing professional rugby, it was literally my dream and the only thing I ever wanted to do growing up,” Hill wrote on Instagram.
“It’s allowed me to travel all over the world, create lifetime friends and see some unimaginable sights on team socials. Big thanks to Exeter Chiefs Sale Sharks & the Houston SaberCats for the opportunity.
“The biggest thank you I want to give is to my parents for sacrificing their time every weekend driving me all over the country and giving all of their support to allow me to do all of this, I never would have even got close if it wasn’t for them.”
