England star Noah Caluori vows to come back 'stronger' after undergoing surgery

Noah Caluori has revealed that he spent most of last season playing with an injury, which has now been rectified following surgery.

One of the rising stars of English rugby, Caluori posted a pictured of himself lying in a hospital bed with his right forearm in a cast on his Instagram account, while giving fans a reassuring thumbs up.

The picture was accompanied by an upbeat message from the winger, whose stock continues to rise after he scored on his England debut against Fiji in the Nations Championship.

Caluori wrote: “Surgery done. Been playing with this injury for 8 months now. Gonna be working hard to get back stronger then (sic) before.”

RugbyPass understands the operation was undertaken to clear up an issue he had with his wrist, not that you would have known there was a problem, given his supreme try-scoring exploits for Saracens last season.

Still a teenager for a couple more months, Caluori enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough campaign in the Gallagher PREM, finishing the season as the league’s joint top try scorer, with only Tommy Freeman matching his 18 touchdowns.

He played for England U20s and England A in June’s uncapped international against France, setting up a couple of tries and having one of his own disallowed, before making his senior debut at Everton F.C’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, dotting down with a trademark spectacular dive in the 73-8 drubbing of the Pacific Islanders.

England coach Byron McGuigan replied to his post, saying: “Air Caluori, rest up, see you soon.”
