Dragons RFC prop Robert Hunt undergoes surgery
Dragons RFC prop Robert Hunt is facing a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury.
Hunt, who has made 13 appearances for the Men of Gwent in his debut campaign, was hurt during the BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Ospreys Rugby at the Electric Brewery Field in January.
The tighthead has been a regular in the matchday squad this season and his absence is a setback for the region as they continue their URC campaign.
A club statement reads: “The 29-year-old front row successfully underwent surgery earlier this week and will now be ruled out for an extended period of time.”
Paul Cremin, Head of Medical Services at Dragons RFC, said: “Robert had surgery in London on a high-grade hamstring injury on Tuesday.
“The surgeon was pleased with the outcome of the operation and Robert will now commence his rehabilitation process over an extended period of time.”
“Robert has asked the club to pass on his thanks to supporters for the well-wishes and messages of support he has received over the last two weeks,” it ends.
