Crystal Kaua: 'We need all the support from the fans'

Crystal Kaua knows her Brazil team need a big result on home soil this weekend to qualify for the HSBC SVNS World Championship.

After two legs of the HSBC SVNS 2 season in Nairobi and Montevideo, the South Americans are fifth in the overall standings and six points adrift of fourth-place China.

This weekend, as the team returns home to play in São Paulo, and the need for success is at an all-time high.

“We’ve been working very hard since the Kenya stage,” Crystal Kaua told Brazil Rugby. “Our athletes love playing for Brazil and want victory. We want to play fast, freely and courageously, play our way and be authentic.

“We need all the support from the fans. In good times and in difficult times. Our team is wonderful and we want to show all our passion for the game, giving back the fans’ support in the best way possible.”

This weekend on home soil, Brazil will play matches against China, Argentina, South Africa, Spain and Kenya across two days at Estádio Nicolau Alayon.

A top four finish will qualify As Yaras for World Championship events in Hong Kong, Valladolid and Bordeaux, where a place in the HSBC SVNS Series will be up for grabs across nine days of competition.
