The Wallaroos will make history in a few months’ time when they play in the USA for the first time, as part of a momentous Pacific Four Series schedule which also includes a Anzac Day fixture against the Black Ferns in Queensland.

Rugby Australia recently announced a first-of-its-kind fixture between the Wallaroos and Black Ferns on Anzac Day, with Sunshine Coast Stadium hosting the O’Reilly Cup match on the shared day of remembrance.

That Test will mark the return of the Wallaroos to Australian soil, as they would’ve just faced Rugby World Cup runners-up Canada in Sacramento pm April 11 and the USA at Kansas City’s KPKC Stadium the following Friday.

The Wallaroos share rivalries with both teams, but especially the USA, with the teams drawing 31-all in York during last year’s Rugby World Cup. Australia progressed out of the pool into the knockout rounds, exiting the tournament with a quarter-final defeat to Canada in Bristol.

“It’s fantastic to confirm a year featuring such notable firsts, specifically our first-ever tour of the USA as part of the Pacific Four Series,” General Manager of Women’s Rugby, Jilly Collins, said.

“The opportunity to travel to the US provides vital experience for the squad as we renew our rivalries with Canada and the United States on their home soil.

“It’s a critical building block as we head toward the Rugby World Cup 2029.

“Beyond the competition, we are excited to bring the Wallaroos to new audiences. I know the team is looking forward to exploring Sacramento and Kansas City.

“These venues offer a unique American atmosphere that will challenge our players and help them grow both on and off the field.”
